Tasks
In the role of Machine Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out machine safety mandates for our clients. More precisely, you will have to :
- Gather all necessary inputs for mandate execution ;
- Be responsible for design and engineering ;
- Conduct risk analyses ;
- Recommend risk-reduction measures ;
- Analyze technical specifications of required components ;
- Supervise and approve electrical drawings and safety programs ;
- Provide technical expertise during mandate execution ;
- Diagnose and improve systems or resolve technical issues ;
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and procedures ;
- Draft functional descriptions and other required documentation ;
- Participate in commissioning activities as needed ;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements
- Hold a university degree in electrical engineering, automated production, or any other relevant field of study ;
- 5 years of experience in a similar position ;
- Be a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec as a licensed engineer ;
- Be fluent in French and English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with our partners outside of Quebec ;
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite ;
- Knowledge of machine safety standards, the Canadian Electrical Code, and other applicable standards ;
- Knowledge of safety PLC programming ;
- Possess CMSE and/or TÜV certification (an asset) ;
- Be able to travel occasionally to client sites ;
- Proven to be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal abilities ;
- Demonstrate analytical and organizational skills ;
- Display flexibility/adaptability (ability to work effectively in changing environments) ;
- Exhibit technical and conceptual mindset combined with expertise in problem solving situations ;
- Sense of responsibility, rigor, and attention to detail ;
- Show customer service orientation qualities ;
- Works collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
